DECEMBER 6
We ended the year on a high note at Elston Electric! More than 150 people came through to enjoy some good food, fun games, great tunes, and—of course—a raffle! It was a lovely evening of community and connection and exactly the way we wanted to wind down a busy year.

NOVEMBER 6
We partnered with Andrea Raby and Amber Rose, the folks behind the forthcoming documentary, One Another. The evening included screening clips from the film, a panel discussion connecting mutual aid and friendship, snacks (of course!), crafting, and a whole lot of community!

NOVEMBER 22
We co-hosted a Solidarity Market & Skill Share with CUSP and Watermelon Sisters. It was a collective refusal to pour our resources into systems built on exploitation and a recommitment to investing in each other. By sharing this time and space together, we exchanged skills, knowledge, and care.

OCTOBER 22
We met up at Elston Electric for an evening of snacks, drinks, and games! Thanks to Elston Electric for hosting us and for donating 15% of all arcade sales to Women Unite! and Chicago United Solidarity Project (CUSP).

JULY 13
We brought back our most popular event! We met up at Cedillo’s Fresh Produce for an Afro-Caribbean inspired Farm-to-Table dinner prepared by Chef Roberto Pérez of Urban Pilón. Of course, the vibes were absolutely immaculate.

JUNE 25
We linked up with our friends at Kartemquin Films to co-host a screening of No One Asked You, a documentary that navigates our current dystopia with humor, compassion, and clear calls to action. After the film, we had a chance to hear about movement wins from Chelsea Souder of Hope Clinic, Alicia Hurtado of Chicago Abortion Fund, and from the film’s director and executive producer, Ruth Leitman.

JUNE 7
We kicked off our second annual Summer Series with an evening of Jazz in the Garden at Global Gardens Chicago. It was a lovely evening that included delicious food; live music from The Paul Asaro Quartet, featuring Natalie Scharf; and tours of the garden.

Co-hosted our inaugural Mutual Aid Fair with CUSP at Movement on Montrose. It was a labor of love that included hyper-local food vendors, free kids’ activities, a pay-what-you-can rummage sale and raffle, local artisans and makers, and a host of mutual aid and other community-based groups that folks could connect with and plug into.

Throughout Women’s History Month, we gathered basic need items for A House in Austin and the families they serve. On March 29 we met up at their space and put together care kits that included things like soap and shampoo, period products, toothbrushes and toothpaste, diapers, and other high-demand items. 

March 10: On National Abortion Provider Appreciation Day, we celebrated with inspiring folks on the frontlines of abortion access and reproductive justice. We invited local abortion providers and activists to join us at Flowers for Dreams for a bouquet making workshop over some pizza, snacks, and drinks. It was a beautiful night of community and care and it provided a much-needed chance to show up for and celebrate these amazing people!

Co-hosted our first-ever Winter Wellness event with a yoga flow led by The Groove Chicago and sound bath from LiBelleration Yoga. This event was for folks working on the frontlines in our communities—nonprofit folks, community organizers, and other incredible local leaders.
