We’re Making a Change!
Seven years and 21 organizations later, WU! is pivoting away from its annual partnership model. This means we will not be launching our application process this year. Instead, we’ll be focusing our efforts on collaborative fundraising. We’ll be curating and co-hosting a variety of events throughout the year meant to connect people in meaningful ways that build power and resilience and provide space to imagine a better world.
We’ve got a lot of reasons for this pivot, the main one is that it’s becoming harder and harder to build a meaningful relationship in only 12 months. That might sound strange, but in this landscape—when everything is on fire, when everything is getting cut, when folks are literally fighting for their lives—a year is simply not enough time to build the infrastructure and support system needed for meaningful work. That’s why we’re leaning into our existing networks and expanding our services to include events that are more suited to one-off, shorter term engagements.
The core of who we are will stay the same.
✅ We’ll still continue providing free and sliding scale capacity building services, including: grants management and grant writing, fundraising and communications, design and marketing, and training and development.
✅ We’ll still prioritize grassroots organizations that are committed to radical care and community and that are women, BIPOC, queer, and/or immigrant led.
✅ We’ll still be doing our very best to make our world a more just, more compassionate place.
