Where do you work?
I’m an independent grants management specialist that provides comprehensive support throughout the full grant lifecycle, from identifying funding opportunities and securing multimillion-dollar awards to ensuring compliance and facilitating reporting.

My experience includes collaborating with government municipalities and nonprofit organizations to optimize grant strategies, manage sub-recipient relationships, and strengthen program implementation. Additionally, I conduct financial reporting, perform compliance assessments, advise on best practices, and improve grant processes to increase efficiency and impact.

How long have you been involved with Women Unite!?
I joined Women Unite! in April 2025. I was introduced to the organization through a family member who has worked with WU! doing graphic design, and she expressed how much she has enjoyed being part of Women Unite!’s mission to transform and grow the capacity of their partners.

What do you like most about WU!?
I love that Women Unite! empowers grassroots organizations. Grassroots organizations are essential to providing direct solutions to some of the most vulnerable communities. However, they often have limited resources and capacity. Providing affordable capacity building services to these organizations is an honorable mission.

What’s an issue you care deeply about? Why?
I care deeply about reforming the U.S. carceral system, specifically by divesting from punitive solutions to social issues and investing in resources that prevent and reduce harm. In my experience with mutual aid, I’ve seen how untreated trauma and limited resources create impossible situations for people to navigate while also trying to exist within the current system that is working directly against them. Investing in education, accessible healthcare and nutrition, affordable and accessible housing, and other societal necessities are the solution to a less harmful world.

What’s a hobby you have?
I regularly play, and occasionally coach, volleyball.

What gives you hope?
I’m fortunate to have a community of dreamers; other people who actively fight and believe in a more compassionate and equitable world.

What are 2–3 ways you’ve been getting through the fall of late-stage capitalism?
My favorite go-to show when I need to decompress is The Office. I also regularly weight lift and practice yoga. I also work with several non-profits and mutual aid groups in my community, specifically around housing stability.

Fun/random fact you want to share?
I have been a pescatarian for 15 years.

What’s one of your favorite local businesses?
One of my favorite local businesses is The Giddy Goat in Charlotte, NC. I love their guava and goat cheese croissant.
