Where do you work?
I am the Development Director at React, a youth theatre company based in Indianapolis, IN. I grew up training there as a kid, so it’s an honor to be able to continue serving the organization through grant writing, fundraising, and writing the occasional script.

How long have you been involved with Women Unite!?
I started with WU! in November 2025 as a Grants Contractor! :)

What do you like most about WU!?

I really love how WU! offers free services to different community partners every year. Having worked in the nonprofit sector with a small youth organization, I know how hard it is to have the time, energy, and resources to do the work that is needed to grow your impact, so the fact that WU! does this for other nonprofits in Chicago is something I deeply admire!

What’s a hobby you have?
An issue that has been on the forefront of my mind lately (partially because React is working on a project about this issue) is the problem of gun violence in America. I was born into a post-Columbine world, but reports of mass shoot-outs between young people in the center of my city and the last-minute prevention of a school shooting in the small town I was raised in have made this issue drive home in ways I hadn’t experienced before. I know that my fear and grief over this issue isn’t singular, because it affects everyone living in America today, but since moving to Paris, France, I have felt safer than I ever did living in New York City and Indianapolis. This visceral experience of safety has woken me up to the severity of the issue in the States, and makes contributing to the issue via React that much more impactful to me.

What’s a hobby you have?
I have been teaching myself how to play the guitar since college, and bring it around with me when I travel. I love to play old folk songs for myself and a few friends, especially in the summertime around a fire or in a village square somewhere in the mountains.

What gives you hope?
The power of art to change people’s minds and open them up to empathy for people they don’t understand. I have been an actor since I was 12, and most of the work I have done has been social-justice oriented. I have personally witnessed the power that a piece of theatre can have on someone, no matter their background or personal experience. It gives me hope that even as we move through the era of technology, people young and old are finding new and interesting ways to express themselves creatively, whether that be through novel mediums or by continuing the tradition of ancient art forms.

Fun/random fact you want to share?
I am working towards fluency in the Modern Greek language, but I don’t have any personal ties to Greece. I started learning it because I wanted to work and study there (and now do in the summers!), and have fallen in love with the language and culture.

What’s one of your favorite local businesses?
I have recently befriended our local florist here in the 20th arrondissement in Paris. Despite the fact that I have minimal French knowledge and she knows no English, we have had many a chit-chat about the city and our lives. And she has the most beautiful flowers!
